Steve Stingley is music director of OCWF. He is an experienced director, choral arranger, improvisational pianist, guitarist, and soloist.
Over the past two decades, Steve has served as assistant to several prominent music directors such as Ron Soderwall from Grace Brethren Church, Long Beach during the David Hocking era. Responsibilities included church song selection, leading congregational worship, and direction of sanctuary choirs. He has founded and directed choirs, and produced and directed staged musicals.
Steve loves the human voice and specializes in choral music. His choral experience includes the Cal Poly, Pomona and Cal State University, Long Beach university choirs, the Pacifica Singers - Hollywood, backup vocal work for the Carpenters at A&M Recording Studios, and local church choirs and ensembles. Bass/baritone solo work includes church services, weddings, musicals, cantatas, and a meeting with Dr. J. Vernon McGee. He has developed choral arrangements for numerous contemporary Christian songs.
Steve attends Lakewood First Baptist Church and Mariners Church. He is a senior systems engineer at Raytheon, El Segundo. Steve is single, has no children, and resides in Long Beach. He especially enjoys tennis and dancing. B Jan 10.
