Sketch - It Is Well with My Soul
This is a 3-5 minute sketch that focuses on the writing of the famous hymn It Is Well With My Soul. The hymn will be sung following completion of the sketch.
The sketch will involve the author, Horatio Spafford receiving a telegram stating that his four daughters had been lost at sea - with only his wife surviving the accident. The next scene shows the author of the song requesting the captain to wake him up when the ship reaches the point where his daughters perished. In the final scene, Horatio stands on the bow of the ship and pens the words to one of the greatest hymns ever written:
When peace like a river attendeth my way, when sorrows like sea billows roll,
Whatever my lot, Thou has taught me to say...
It is well, it is well with my soul.
